Due to the increasing demand for clean water of citizen HCMC, November 2013 Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the implementation of the Tan Hiep Water Treatment Plant project.
Tan Hiep Water Investment Joint Stock Company (THW) was established in December 2013, THW was investor of Tan Hiep Water Treatment Plant with shareholders:
+ Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) .
+ Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment (CII).
+ Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE).
Supply water wholesale contract is signed in November 2014 between Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) and Tan Hiep Water Investment Joint Stock Company (THW).
Raw water wholesale contract is signed in December 2015 between Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) and Tan Hiep Water Investment Joint Stock Company (THW).
November 22nd 2016, Tan Hiep Water Treatment Plant was solemnly held The Inauguration Ceremony at Hoc Mon Dist, HCMC with total investment 1.200 billions Vietnam dong (~ 52.000.000 USD) with a capacity 300.000 m3/day. January 18th 2016 Tan Hiep Water Treatment Plant supply clean water with intial volumme 150.000 m3/day.
Tan Hiep WTP is running a capacity 250.000 m3/day now.
With a completely new automation production technology, Tan Hiep WTP also welcomes many units inbound and outboud guest every year to visit the Plant to exchange and share experiences. More and more student from universities study, intership.
In 2017, Tan Hiep Water Treatment Plant was recognized a typical work by Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association.
